Foot & Ankle Operative Procedures

Ankle ligament stabilisation

Tightens and reinforces ankle ligaments to restore integrity and prevent recurring instability and sprains.

The modified Brostrom repair remains the gold standard for lateral ankle instability, reinforcing with state-of-the-art internal bracing augmentation techniques to restore mechanical stability while preserving the natural anatomy and proprioceptive function of the joint.

Bunions and forefoot reconstructions

Corrective surgery to realign joints and restore balance, relieving pain for a comfortable return to footwear.

The specific osteotomy technique selected depends on the severity of the deformity and the alignment of surrounding structures, with modern fixation methods allowing earlier weight bearing and a more predictable correction than older approaches.

Achilles pathologies

Surgical repair for tears or degeneration to restore strength for a stable, pain-free gait and movement.

For acute ruptures, surgical repair is generally favoured in active individuals to restore full tendon length and tension, while chronic insertional and mid-portion tendinopathy that failed conservative management responds well to debridement and tendon reconstruction techniques.

Cartilage grafting

Replaces damaged surfaces with healthy cartilage to prevent further wear and maintain active joint mobility.

Grafting procedures are particularly valuable for younger patients with osteochondral lesions, offering a biological solution that restores the joint surface and reduces the progression toward arthritis. These are often supplemented with Platelet rich plasma or other biologics.

Ankle arthroscopy

Keyhole surgery to treat joint debris and ligament issues, promoting faster healing and return to activity.

The procedure allows direct visualisation and treatment of osteochondral defects, synovitis, impingement, and loose body removal through minimal incisions, making it an effective first-line surgical option before considering more extensive reconstructive intervention.

Foot & Ankle Non-Operative Procedures

Precise image guided steroid injections

A targeted delivery of anti-inflammatory medication into specific ankle joints or tendon sheaths, providing rapid relief for chronic arthritis and localized inflammation.

Use of autologous platelet rich plasma injections

A regenerative injection used to accelerate healing in chronic Achilles tendinopathy and plantar fascia injuries, harnessing natural growth factors to restore tendon integrity.

Non operative management of tendinopathies

A non-operative pathway for chronic Achilles and peroneal tendinopathy, utilizing orthotics and eccentric loading to strengthen the tendon and return you to active walking and running.

Conservative management of all fractures in plaster/splint/orthotics

A non-surgical approach to healing foot and ankle fractures using precision casting, moon boots, and orthotics to ensure the bone stabilises and heals in the optimal position.
